Level I Security Officer Certification - $50.00
This certification includes unarmed, non-lethal training. You will learn proper techniques and self-defense strategies to handle yourself in a variety of situations. 

Level II Security Officer Certification - $100.00
For Level II training, you will learn unarmed, non-lethal methods, including baton, handcuff and keys, as well as OC spray training. 

Level III Security Officer Certification - $150.00
Level III officer certification includes armed lethal training, which will cover firearms, baton, handcuff and keys, as well as OC spray training. 

Optional Paperwork Processing fee to Assist in Obtaining License - $50.00

Additional 7.3125% NM Gross Receipt Tax. Prices do NOT include state required fees. 

What will I learn?

  • Laws pertaining to firearms, deadly physical force and the exercise of the powers of arrest – mandatory four (4) hours minimum
  • Legal and practical aspects of use of force and personal/employer liability – eight (8) hours
  • Verbal and written communication and conflict management – six (6) hours
  • First responder basic first aid – two (2) hours
  • Specific weapon endorsement
  • Identifying evidence
  • Care and handling of evidence
  • Securing the immediate area

  • Communication with local law enforcement, jurisdiction and limitations of authority
  • Radio dispatch protocol and other communication tools

  • Legal responsibilities, qualifications, restrictions and liability of level 1 security guard
  • Introduction to use of force continuum, appropriate use of force and de-escalation techniques
  • Powers of detention and New Mexico laws of citizen arrest
  • Appropriate search and seizure, legal restrictions and civil liability
  • New Mexico laws on trespass
  • The five firearms safety rules
  • Weapon manipulation
